History SRM Group is a family owned entity that began in Brazil in 1963 as a small shoe manufacturing industry. SRM has now diversified into leather manufacturing, cattle ranching, farming, food warehousing and distribution, pet food manufacturing, media communications (newspaper, AM/FM radio, and magazine), mineral water and fruit juice bottling, as well as the production of disinfectants and cosmetics, among other business ventures. With forty years of manufacturing experience and after much market research, SRM Group decided to expand its pet food line into the U.S. market. In 2005 a new company was formed, SRM America, LLC in Lafayette, LA, in partnership with PCI International Inc., an American trading company, to market its pet food into the United States. From the humble beginnings of a shoemaker, SRM Group has developed into an internationally renowned organization with 14 industries in Brazil, 3 companies in the U.S., and 1 meat industry in Italy; specializing in the production, domestic distribution and exportation of high quality products throughout the world.
